Elaine Smith

ELAINE SMITH studied at the London College of Music where she won the Westminster Prize for the highest graduate marks. She took piano and flute as joint first studies and also singing, for which she holds Diplomas. She later took a great interest in Electronic Organ and Recorder, working in close collaboration with the late Dr. Bill Lloyd Webber to produce the country’s first Electronic Organ examination syllabus.

She has worked with many eminent musicians as an accompanist and has given many recitals in this country and abroad.  She regularly writes for the children’s Magazine “Flutewise” and has taught at many Norfolk schools including Norwich City College and UEA. She also holds a degree in Homeopathy, which she practices. Elaine is particularly interested in promoting a musical education for the young. She is a Senior Examiner and Moderator for the London College of Music and has also worked in the Far East, Malta, Athens, Greek Islands and Cyprus giving workshops, talks to teachers and examining.
